Nabad Art Gallery's space at the Sunny Art Fair 2010 launches the work of Eman Haram, a multicultural artist whose photo-based work, in her own words, "explores the predicament of lives dispersed across multiple social, cultural, linguistic and geopolitical landscapes." Haram's first exhibition in Jordan, "Between Memory and Amnesia: You Shall Pass Through Seven Veils," features three different projects. "Diaries of an Amnesiac" (2010), "Unveiling Salomé: History of a Perverse Gaze" (2008) and "Mémoire Involontaire" (2006) delve into the fluid concepts of identity, homeland, exile, belonging, collective memory and points of conflict between Orient and Occident. Born in 1958, Eman Haram holds a B.Sc. in Architecture and an M.A. in Art History (University of South Florida, 1992). She has held three solo exhibitions in Montreal and has participated in numerous group shows in Canada. She currently lives and works between Montreal and Amman.
