Nabad - pulse of the art scene

Thanks to the raw use of acrylics and abstract perspectives, Obu, the tanned teenager occupying Hala Dabaji’s paintings, wanders by day like in a lucid dream, and by night in the darkest twilight.

Hala Dabaji is inhabited by different ‘places’, which has led her to explore different techniques, such as drawing and knitting on textiles, and creating her own brand, Les Têtes d’Obu.

Born in 1981, Hala Dabaji works as a multidisciplinary artist in Beirut, Lebanon. She holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts. She has held two solo exhibitions, most recently in 2016 at L’Heure Bleue, Beirut. Hala has participated in numerous group shows in Lebanon, Ivory Coast, Italy and the United States.
